Supply connections may be assigned a flow capacity [Volume per time] that can never be exceeded.
To add a flow capacity time series, enable ‘has flow capacity’, click the button and click Browse... to select an existing flow capacity time series or click Create a new file… to open the ‘Create a new file’ dialogue.
The flow capacity overrules all other rules that may try to force more water through the supply connection.
Example
A water user may call for 5 m3/s. If the flow capacity of the supply connection has been set to 4 m3/s for example, the user will only receive maximum 4 m3/s and hence suffer a deficit, even though there may be plenty of water at the source.
If the flow capacity of a supply connection is reached, the model will attempt to force the water in an alternative direction. If this is not possible, the simulation will terminate with a message.
