Coupling to the Saturated Zone

At the end of the ET calculation step, the change in storage in the upper SZ cell is compared to the change in storage in upper and lower UZ layers, plus the amount of water removed by ET and any infiltration and recharge to SZ. If this water balance exceeds the limit specified in the UZ Computational Con­trol Parameters (V1 p. 196) dialog, then a depth correction is calculated for the water table and the water table elevation is adjusted, while ensuring that the exchange between UZ and SZ does not exceed the UZ infiltration rate.
