Running a simulation

First set the simulation period by going to the ‘Simulation period’ in the Tree view. Click the ‘Apply default’ button to search the boundary conditions and apply the corresponding simulation period. In this setup the only restriction on the simulation period is the water level boundary defined earlier and the simulation period is automatically set to the extent of the time series file.

Secondly set the time step by going to the ‘Time step control’ in the Tree view. Set a fixed time step of 30 minutes.

Now we are ready to run a simulation, but before executing a simulation you should validate the setup to ensure everything is specified correctly. In the MIKE Zero menu bar go to the menu ‘Run’ - ‘Extended validation’. Any warnings or error message will appear in the ‘Validation’ window.

If there are no errors continue to run the simulation by going to the menu ‘Run’ - ‘Simulation’. Progress and messages are shown in the Simulation window.
